Svetozár Košický is a painter and illustrator. His favourite techniques are painting with oil and ink wash-drawing. A characteristic of his illustration work is an almost tangible portrayal of the world of myths, legends, fantasy and the world of the invisible.

Another strong suit of his artistic work is portraits, where, besides technical skill, he places emphasis on trying to capture the inner state of the subject.

In his free work, he takes inspiration from landscape, animals, people and objects. He does not focus on a specific theme per se, but endeavours to capture the softer planes of reality, using form as a symbol.
